The world needs a lot more fun in it, and a trip to the movies in Singapore is a great place to start. Beginning in September, comedy upcoming movies range from the downright silly through to the completely outrageous will have you rolling in the aisles with sheer delight.

Mike & Dave Need Wedding Dates

Best described as a slapstick sex comedy, Mike & Dave Need Wedding Dates features Zac Efron and Adam DeVine at their ridiculous best. The Stangle brothers are notorious for their bizarre antics at family gatherings, so when it is time for the family get together for their sister’s wedding, the family makes them promise to be on their best behavior. This, they all agree, will only work if the brothers attend with respectable dates. After appearing on a talk show to describe their plight, the brothers are conned into bringing an equally outrageous pair of party girls to the wedding, ensuring that total chaos and hilarity are the outcome. Dripping with sexual innuendo and teenage humour, it’s probably not for the prudish, but it’s all done in the name of fun. And the fun starts on 8th of September.

Bridget Jones’s Baby

Welcome to the third installment in this hugely popular comedy franchise, again featuring Renee Zellweger and Colin Firth, with Patrick Dempsey thrown into the mix for added spice and comedy. Having recently split from husband Mark Darcy, Bridget decides to concentrate on her TV career and budding relationship with a dashing American (Dempsey), only to discover that she is pregnant. Being not sure which man is the father, Bridget must forge ahead with her life, balancing the two men who could be her and her child’s future. Once again, Bridget’s plight is both hilarious, extremely real, and well worth catching up on. The movie is slated to be released on 15th of September.

Middle School: The Worst Years of My Life

A true family comedy based on the well-received novel by James Patterson, it tells the story of Rafe Khatchadorian, a recent student addition to the Hills Village Middle School campus. Ruled by a tyrannical headmaster who does everything by the book (his book), it’s not the place to attend if you are the least bit creative, which is Rafe’s driving force in life. A clash of minds is inevitable, and the ensuing results completely hilarious. As the headmaster tries to enforce his way of doing things, Rafe rebels more and more, enlisting fellow students in his campaign for freedom of expression. A great comedy night out for the whole family, complete with farts, gloop and total chaos, beginning from the 6th of October.
